Kanulock: Strapping Down Your Board with Locking Straps

Kanulock: Strapping Down Your Board with Locking Straps

We recently made two videos that show our preferred methods for securing Stand Up Paddle boards or surfboards to your car easily using locking straps, the first one using two locking Kanu Lock locking straps with steel cables:

This second video shows how to strap and secure a single board to your car with a single 18' long Kanu Lock strap.  This method will work for Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP's), surfboards, Kayaks and the like:

At our shop we also sell the Dockslocks locking system which locks a Stand Up Paddleboard or surfboard through the leash plug on the board.

The SUPGrip handle on our Blue Planet SUP's can also be used to run a cable lock directly through the handle as shown in this photo and video:

This video shows some of the features of our Patented SUPGrip handle:

Watch this playlist for more helpful videos on how to strap and secure your Stand Up Paddleboard or Surf board quickly and safely to your car.  Please note: Use the 30 second single strap method only if your roof racks are very secure on your vehicle.  If in doubt or if you are traveling at high speeds or longer distances, always use two straps, one in the front and one in the back to secure your board.  Safety first, always check your straps and buckles for damage.

Aloha,

Robert Stehlik
