GEAR ADVICE
What size paddleboard should I get?
Board selection depends on your weight, experience, intended use, and the conditions where you'll paddle. A stable recreational board may be ideal for one person, while a smaller or more performance-oriented board may be better for an experienced paddler. You can read our full guide here.
How do I choose the right SUP paddle?
The correct paddle depends on your height, board type, paddling style, and personal preference. We usually recommend the Shaka method — throwing a shaka above your head for the height.
RENTALS, LESSONS & TOURS
Do you rent surfboards and stand-up paddleboards?
We do not offer rentals at our Honolulu location. Please contact Blue Planet Adventure for SUP rentals and lessons.
Do I need experience to rent equipment?
Requirements depend on the equipment and activity. Some equipment is suitable for beginners, while certain boards or activities may require previous experience.
Blue Planet and affiliated operations may offer guided ocean experiences depending on location and season. Check the current activities available for your preferred location.
SESSION PREP & SAFETY
What should I bring for a SUP or paddle session?
Bring appropriate swimwear, water, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need. Hawaii's sun can be intense, so sun protection is especially important.
What happens if the weather or ocean conditions aren't safe?
Ocean conditions can change quickly. Blue Planet reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel activities when conditions are considered unsafe. If your reservation is affected, our team will provide information about available options.
EQUIPMENT CARE
How should I take care of my surfboard or SUP?
Rinse your equipment with fresh water after use, keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight when possible, and store it properly. Avoid leaving boards in excessive heat, or use a UV cover for protection.
Can Blue Planet repair my board?
Repair services and availability vary by location and type of damage. Contact us with details about the repair you need and we'll let you know what options are available.
