About the SUPGrip Handle

The patented Blue Planet SUPGrip handle offers superior control and ease of use while carrying your SUP or oversized board, without impacting performance. Developed for our own board line and now sold and distributed worldwide to SUP makers and enthusiasts.

This updated version features a vent screw to help your board maintain homeostasis under temperature and pressure changes, plus a molded rubber grip for maximum comfort and durability. Be sure to align the vent screw over the stringer of your board when installing so you vent both sides of your foam.

Installation Overview

Installation Steps

1. Find the balance point of the board, accounting for the weight of the fin and leash.
2. Mark the bottom of the box and set the plunge router to the depth of the box with flange.
3. Use a ½" diameter bit with a minimum 2" depth to route the box opening (box is 1¾" deep).
4. Mark the flange outline.
5. Route the flange depth around the box, then mark and route the main box and small hole for the vent insert.
6. Sand the deck around the opening.
7. Install box with thickened slow-curing epoxy resin.
8. Glass over the box.
9. After curing, cut excess glass with a razor blade, sand smooth, and add finish coat.
10. Apply deck pad over handle and cut out openings with a razor blade.
11. If using a vent plug, drill holes to either side of the stringer and use a self-venting plug.
